BLUR MAN = BIRTHDAY DISASTER

Recently, everyone i met asked me this question:

"So how did your birthday celebration with him goes?"

I was hesitating whether to put this into my blog since everything turned out to be a disaster. Practically everything went wrong. Well... Almost. Sigh~

By right, it should be a joyous occasion (of course subjected to which stage of life you are currently at) filled with fun, laughter and maybe surprise. (I did get a 'surprise' indeed) To save myself the time and trouble of repeating the same old story over and over again, i shall blog it here and divert those interested to know 'my story' to my blog. Please forgive me. I am lazy to explain again.

On my birthday eve, that dumb man finally decided to ask me out after going 1 big round just to ask whether i am free on the actual day -_-"' I wonder what makes it so difficult for him just to ask me directly whether i am free on wed? (Amy said must be because of his ego! Man & his ego... *Shakes head)

Anyway, he told that he wanted to bring me to the new cathay cinema near Dhoby Ghaut since i have never been there before. After some discussions, "Blood Diamond" by Leonardo DiCaprio was our movie choice for the night. Our plan was to go Orchard for my dinner celebration before heading for the movie. Worried that there might be a traffic jam, he decided to try another route to Orchard instead of our usual route. Guess where we ended up?

Serangoon Road! *Faint* That was the upteen times that we lost our way while trying to go somewhere. Pity i cannot provide much help in this situation even if i wanted to. Asking me for direction is like asking me how many strands of hair i have on my head. I am clueless! I know i am a singaporean and by right a singaporean should know his/her way better than an Ang Moh. I am embarrassed and almost regret to say that i am ABSOLUTELY the last person that you should ever look for to get directions. (everyone please take note!) You ask me 'A', i may answer you 'Z'. Yes... i know you are laughing at this point. Go ahead. I am used to it. In the end, We wasted about 30 mins on the road :(

Blur Ang Moh + Blur Queen = Blur Couple Who Cannot Find Their Way. Get it?

FINALLY we arrived at our destination and decided to get the tickets first before having our dinner. Strangely, we did not see "Blood Diamond" on the Movie listing there. He took out the movie listing that he printed out beforehand for a second look. Oh my god! He saw the wrong Cathay! The movie listing was for Cathay Orchard. (He thought that was the one at Dhoby Ghaut) and the one at Dhoby Ghaut is actually 'Cathay The Cathay Cineplex'. Seems like they did not screen this movie there or probably it was already taken down. Actually i was thinking why do they have to give it such a name? Obviously confusing people right? There is no meaning to the name. (or is there?) Something like 'Cathay Dhoby Ghaut' is at least easier to identify with. Agree anyone? Eventually, we were left with no choice but to switch to GV Plaza next door.

As our stomachs were already growling by then, we decided to take our dinner inside that 'Cathay' building. He asked me to choose and since there was not much choice there and we still had a movie to catch, 'Billy Bombers' was chosen as 'our dinner'.

The worst was yet to come. It was 9pm when we entered the restaurant. We picked our orders with only 30 mins left before the movie starts. He asked the waiter to check the duration of the orders just in case. Before the waiter returned to inform us, that blur man retrieved his movie listing again for another look. To our horror, he realised that the movie at GV Plaza starts at 9.15pm instead! He must have assumed that the show starts at almost the same timing at all the cineplex. In the end we had to cancel our orders and pathetically, went 'Subway' to dabao our dinner to bring into the cinema.

Somehow we ended up rushing again even though we supposed to have sufficient time.

What an ultimate messup!

Lucky the saving grace from that whole incident was that the movie was better than we expected. Leonardo's acting skill was really superb! *Thumbs Up* The movie was actually quite touching and stirred the emotions in me. As for the storyline, it was refreshing as in it touches on social issue as compared to the usual stuffs like romance, comedy or horror theme. It kind of change my perspective of those carats that most women craves for, probably not aware that somewhere in the third world country, people are suffering because of these 'stones'. I guess next time i may have to think twice before even considering buying those 'blings blings'. Everyone should watch that movie. Highly recommended!

As for that dumb man, he said that he will compensates me with another 'proper dinner' and bring me out to get something for myself. Actually if i have a choice, i would rather he compensates me with more of his time. Even though things did not turn out as expected (yet again), at least this time round i can really see his effort and sincerity in trying to make me happy. Meanwhile, he gave me a giant Hershey's Kisses chocolate that day. It was the first time i saw such a big Hershey's Kisses! (About 8cm in height!) My stupid brother refused to believe that was a Hershey's Kisses till i showed him the packaging. Wonder where that dumb man got it from? Hmm...

Decided to post this picture cos it reminds me of the "五指山", where Sun Wu Kong was pinned under the mountain by the buddha's palm. Haha... ya ya... i know i am very bo liao.
