UPDATES!!!!!

Goodness, it's already July! So fast!

There's so many stuff i wanna blog about but work has been keeping me real busy. Events and activities i meant to blog about a while back were chuck aside. Can't even remember when was the last time i had dinner at home. Sadly, i don't even have much time for tv anymore :'(

I miss my blogging days! Haha...

To make up for this, this shall be a super duper long post with some recent and outdated events. Too lazy to write more, so i shall let the pictures do most of the talking.

First up

BBQ session with my ex-colleagues at Victor's place.Think these photos were taken somewhere around April??? Haha...

Fried beehoon and beancurd skin+barley+gingko dessert(腐竹薏米白果糖水). I know it looks a bit ermmm... But looks can be deceiving ok! I ate like 3 bowls can??? The beancurd skin was so smooth that it literally glided down my throat.

Chicken Curry for the fried beehoon + satay sauce

Kim looks high! Haha..

Check out the big grins on their faces :)

Me and Carol

BBQ-ing in progress. Please wait a moment...

Eating time!

Looks like everyone is enjoying the food. Lolz...

Cycling trip at Pulau Ubin

It's been ages since i last went Pulau Ubin. Thanks to Peanut, i got the chance to go back there again with her cell group. Pulau Ubin is still a beautiful island whereby everything is so peaceful there. For a moment, i felt as though i was teleported back to my childhood days. Everything looks so familar, probably because my grandma used to live in those kampong type of house at Lim Chu Kang. We had vegetable and poultry farms back then. I remember i even used to cycle around those dirt tracks with my cousins, fly kite, chase squirrel(yes, we actually saw one there), play hide and seek, pluck fruits like rambutans, durians or bananas that dropped from those trees planted by my grandma. Everything was so simple and carefree back then. Now everywhere is so commerialized... Sigh~

Approaching destination!

Can you spot the SQ plane flying pass?

Very 'beachy fweel'. Haha...

Traditional Kampong house on stilts

On our way to the bicycle rental shop

It was a pleasant surprise to see this wayang stage still in existence after so many years. So i did a quick research online and realized that open air wayang performances are held at the stage as part of the Hungry Ghost Festival every year. How silly of me to assume that it is meant as a tourist attractions and used for display purposes only. Now then i found out that the stage actually "came alive" during "that time" of the year. O_o"'

Guess what? About 5 mins into our rides, the sky opened up! *Faint*

The smart uncle even managed to find a strategic location to hide from the rain

Finally the rain stopped and people started fishing

Anyone wanna swim out? Haha...

Grandma's 83rd Birthday

Another year has passed and now my Ah ma is 83 already. Sometimes i really envy her when i see her surrounded by so many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. How many people can claim to have the same honour? I admit that sometimes i do feel fortunate to be part of this big group of family. That is because despite the occasional quarrels or unhappiness, when it comes to the big occasion, we are a close knit group of people. Our family ties are still quite strong compare to many people out there who may not even know who their cousins are. So yes, in a way, i felt blessed :)

Happy 83rd birthday Ah Ma! :)

Prawning Session!!!

Went prawning for the first time in my life with my nutpals recently. It was certainly a "once in a lifetime experience"(pun intended). We decided to go to Lakeside Fishing Village at Taman Jurong since it's the nearest location from our house.

Here we are!

Our baits - Not sure what was it

The place here charges by per hour. 1 hour/rod will cost about $14. For 2 hours, they will throw in a complimentary 1 hour free. So total 3 hours/rod will set you back by 28 bucks. Pretty expensive hobby i must say. But it can be fun depending on how skillful you are.

Guy with the bald head was catching like 1 prawn every 5 mins -_-"'

Me with the pathetic forced smile cos i can' t catch a single prawn after 2 hours.

Just before times up, i finally caught one! Yeah!!! I know it's damn pathetic. At least better than nothing. Haha... Actually it was the little gal wearing the pink top and hairband in the picture above who gave me some tips. She's damn pro man.. Salute!

The 'suey' prawn caught by me. Haha...

To prove that i can't be that terrible, i went for another prawning session one week later. Haha... This time round, we went to the one beside Jurong Bird Park. Bro's friend drives. So we went there around 11pm+ on a sat night. Gosh, the whole place was quite packed. Is Singapore really that boring to the extent that everyone was out prawning? -_-"'

But guess what? This time round, i caught one prawn within 5 mins. Wahahahhaha... Big improvement leh as compared to the previous time when i only caught one after 3 hours. The boss there is also nicer cos he went around showing people the techniques on how to catch the prawns. He even went around putting free prawns into people's net occasionally. Really very good at servicing his customers so that they will be happy and will continue to patronize his business. Li hai!

The prawns on the left side of the net were caught by me and my partner, Donut. Impressive right for 2nd timers? Haha... The other net was caught by my bro and his 2 friends with 2 rods somemore. Looks like the newbies had won the oldies. I am so proud of myself. Haha...

BBQ pit - This time round, we had enough prawns to bbq. Wahhahaa...

Live prawns thrown straight onto the bbq pit. Eh... a bit cruel i know.

Our male chefs. Lolz...

First batch of cooked prawns, from big to small. Ha...

Obviously the freshest prawn i have ever eaten. Really Q dao~~~

See the prawn size? It's GIGANTIC!

So proud of our catch :)

I am sooo addicted to prawning now. Anyone else interested to join me next time? :)

SG League Cup Semi-Final

SAF vs Home United

Went to Jalan Basar stadium with Riz to watch the league cup semi final between SAF and Home United. First time watching a local match in the stadium instead of tv. Quite interesting. Ha... Really gotta salute those fans who sang and played their drums throughout the whole match. It was a slightly different experience compared to the last time Man Utd came to Sg. The atmosphere was much better back then. I still remember the stadium actually vibrated whenever a goal was scored. Really can't imagine how the sensation will be like if i am inside Old Trafford celebrating with thousands of fans. The mere thought of it sends a shiver down my spine. When will i ever get the chance to see my beloved red devils in Manchester???

Notice anything special about this photo? Clue: hair length.

Yes, if you guess it correctly, the ratio of male to female there is like 100:1? Ha... So i am a rare species there. Wahahhaha... Nevermind. I like to be exclusive. Lolz...

Bandar's 25th Birthday

My new colleague, Bandar just celebrated his birthday about 2 weeks back. It was meant as a surprise party organised for him at Changi SAF Chalet. It took Amanda, his gf, also our colleague months of preparation and white lies in order to last till this day. Ha...

Handmade cards prepared for guests to write their well wishes

Another custom made cake ordered by Amanda. Nice right?

25 lighted candles

Photo montage of all the Bandar's moments

Me and Amanda preparing the deco. for the door

Shi Lai looks as though he's trying to create a red underwear. Haha..

Yes, that's right. These bottles are like my team's mascot. Wherever we go, there will be booze lying around somewhere. I will be a trained professional drinker very soon. Lolz...

Everyone on standby to prepare for the "big surprise"

The pranksters. Lolz...

And then the birthday boy walked in and got a rude shock!!! Wahhaahahha

Poor thing... Hee..
