LIFE IS GREAT!
School holiday is going to end soon... Sianz~
Time seems to flash by quickly when you are enjoying yourself. Strangely for the first time, i find myself not craving for my usual diet of english football whenever there is a season break from June onwards. Somehow, weekends suddenly seem too short for me. The last thing i need is for football to occupy my time because I still want to go for the GSS before it ends.
Talking about GSS, me and Caroline went crazy shopping for our '内在美' recently. Haha... In fact, i think it was her who psycho me into buying. *Temptations* I hate it when people try to tempt me during sales. On one hand, i was trying to save as much money as i can, on the other hand, the devil in me was willing me to go ahead and spend while i can. Hard choice huh? In the end guess what i bought? I bought 4 bras and several mixes of t-strings,thongs and hipsters from La Senza even though i have enough stocks at home. That Cha Bor was even crazier than me. She told me she bought 13 bras and don't know how many undergarments. Siao! But i can understand why cos La Senza is having 50% sales right now and if we buy from Robinson, there is a further 20%. How can anyone resist right? Actually i wanted to get more but i can't possibly spend all my miserable temp. job pay on those items. Furthermore, i still have my online sprees to cover. As usual, my mum's skeptical reaction upon seeing my purchases was:
"Buy so many for what? You have a whole cupboard full of bras and undergarments and who is going to see what you are wearing inside anyway. Somemore if i hang all of them out to dry after washing, what if the Banglas upstairs think we are operating some kind of indecent business here" (-.-)
My god! Think too much loh... Knowing aunties and their logics, i did not want to go on telling her stories about bras for different clothes, different occasions or theories like how it makes me happy and confident about wearing it. To her, A BRA IS JUST A BRA. YOU EITHER WEAR IT OR YOU DON'T. I rest my case... Sigh~
So what have i been busy with recently?
Ans: Busy rejecting and receiving free treats from everybody and anybody. Haha...
First, i was invited to stay over at JB for 2 days to eat, shop and relax. I rejected it eventually due to some last minute changes. Then my mum asked me whether i wanted to join my uncle at a restaurant for a Father's Day celebration dinner, which i again rejected because she told me at the very last minute when i already had other appointments. (Damn... She keeps raving about the food to me after that -Lobster porridge was soooooooo nice! Purposely makes me jealous!) As if to make up for those losses, i was given treats by my current colleagues and even my ex-colleague (been so long since i last met up with them) Hehe... Then I had another big feast 2 days ago to celebrate my grandpa's birthday (yes, the food was great - my white pepper crab!) and not too long ago, my grandma celebrated her 80th birthday with another dinner spread! Woo hoo~ All the endless treats is making me live like a queen. Haha...
I love this picture of my grandma. Sometimes old people can be shy on their birthdays too :) Does she looks like 80? No right? I wonder what my niece and nephew are thinking about at that moment. Haha... My mum and aunts!
The next generations - me and the cousins!
The youngest generations - my cute nieces and nephews!
Of course there were quite a few of them not in those pictures. Actually given our large family size, i think it would be nice to have a formal session one day and gather everyone together for a group photo. I guess it would be a wonderful memorial for my grandparents and everyone in the pictures.
*************************************************************
Someone last minute fly my aeroplane the other day. So mad at him! Never mind, his loss is my gain. Lucky the little devil's mum jio me out to eat crab. We decided to go to the Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant (funny name~) at Night Safari to satisfy our cravings. It has been years since i last went there as a kid.
The entry tickets sponsered by the little devil's mum :)
The little devil up to his antics again.
Coconut juice - one of my favourite drinks. I noticed that compared to the coconuts in Batam, those in Batam are green in colour, bigger and taste blander. Hmm.. i still prefer the local version which may be imported from elsewhere. Although it is smaller, it is sweeter and much more refreshing.
The moment i have been waiting for. Chilli crabs! Hard to believe that before May this year, i have not eaten any crabs for about 1.5 years and then within a month, i ate it for the 4th time already! Yes, i am a crab lover and the pincer is my favourite part. Of course, nothing is complete without a dip of those warm fried buns into those yumilicious sauce. Ooomph... i am craving for it again. But i have to say the food here is damn ex. A plate of crab meat fried rice and seafood horfun easily costs about 14 bucks each. So you can imagine how much this crab costs. But then this is at Night Safari, so i guess it is not surprising for them to markup the price. Thank god this is also a treat, otherwise i might have to wash plates for them. Haha...
Some fake insects display we saw near the entrance.
Angry mode!!!
One bad point about going to Night Safari is that no flash photography is allowed. In other words, taking night photograph without flash means that the object probably cannot be seen. In an attempt to try snapping a picture of this leopard cat in the dark, i forgot to switch to my non-flash mode. Therefore, my flash went off when i took this picture. Suddenly someone happened to walk past behind me and exclaimed in horror:
"Oh my god!!! No flash photography allowed!!! How can she do that!"
*FUME* ~~~~ Hey, i did not do it on purpose ok! The way she reacted was like i am some kind of moron who doesn't know how to understand or read the sign, "no flash photography allowed" which was put up everywhere. It was so dark there and i did not realise that i still have the flash mode on. And it's not like i am going around snapping pictures of those ferocious animals that will attack people when provoked. Not only that, the leopard cat was enclosed and I was not trying to disturb them from their sleep or anything. They were obviously walking about, oblivious to our presence.
Of course not to say i was totally blameless for the whole incident, but it was certainly not intentional. Stupid woman! Stop trying to act as if you are so high and mighty and please watch your mouth before you start accusing people. If you are so great, then stay away from the Night Safari and let all the animals have their rest!!! Too bad it was too dark to see her face. Otherwise i would have given her a cold hard stare. The last thing i want is being accused of something i am not!
I think this is a resting place
This picture reminds me of someone :)
We took a tram ride after that before ending the night. Hmm... i have to say the Night Safari is pretty boring. Everything was so dark and at times, we still got to search for those animals that are hiding somewhere just to catch a glimpse of it. I still prefer the Zoo anytime. At least i can see clearly what the animals are doing and take all the photos i want without being accused by some moron stranger. Hmph!
