NAC & WIMS AT EXPO

I am officially jobless again! Sigh~

In case anyone is wondering, i have not been totally idling and slacking around during this period ok. I did look for a temp job. In fact, i was offered 3 temp jobs which i all rejected for one reason or another. Maybe to some people i am choosy, but this time round i really want to find a job which i truely enjoy, as compared to the past where i just suffered in silence or take anything on offer for the sake of earning those extra moolahs. And no, i do have a fat bank account. I am still struggling. Just as i said in the previous post, i just want to be back to my true self - FOR ONCE. (But then the opportunity cost of my decision means forgoing a stable income for this holiday. Haiz...)

Well... at least i managed to find a temp job which i kind of enjoyed recently, though it was only 6 days (24-29 May). Cousin - Tony (his new name. Haha...), who is a staff of Success Resources told me that his company needed temp helpers at Singapore Expo for a biz convention. Frankly speaking, i have alway been interested in doing things related to events and roadshows as compared to office job for the obvious reasons - I get to meet and interact with different people as well as experience new things. Though i did hesitate to take up the job (So far!), the pay and the 'fun' that comes with it is enough to motivate me to take up this job. The only bad point is the long hours which can start as early as 6.30 in the morning to about 10+ at night. Freaking long hours! Lucky the 3rd day onwards was not so bad. In addition, i have another work kaki - my other cousin, Zhao Ru (Tony's sis) who lives just 1 bus stop away from me. That means i also got a travel companion :)

The events for the first 2 days was National Achiever's Congress (NAC) where world-renowned speakers such as Jay Abraham, Stephen Pierce, T.Harv Eker, Mark Victor Hansen and Roger Hamilton were invited to share their strategies and skill that will make money, grow our incomes and profits in our business and personal life. I think i need some $$$ tips from them! Haha...

Hall 2 - The place where the event was held

Success Resources - Organiser for the events.

Japanese Translation - My job duty for the first 2 days. No, i do not know how to speak japanese, neither am i required to do japanese translation. I cannot even read those words on the board. Haha... Basically my duty was to collect the deposits and rental fees for the headsets and translation devices from the jap customers who flew all the way to Singapore to attend this event. Of course, there were some jap guys who can speak english to assist us at the booth. Thank god for them! I must say japanese are generally very friendly and polite after meeting them. I saw some cute ones too! One of them even look like Vanness from F4. Haha...

Some pictures taken by our photographer, Anthony:

The japanese ladies listening in with their headsets

Front row: 3 of our jap. translators. Too bad the cute ones not in this picture. Haha... Elim Chew, boss of 77th Street was there too.

Jay Abraham, the world's number 1 marketing genius - "Do something once, get paid forever!" I am considering whether to attend his free seminar this weekend. Sounds beneficial to me. Hmm...

Jay Abraham's free seminar - anyone interested in going?

T. Harv Eker - the man who went from zero to millionaire in only 2 1/2 years! I borrowed his book, 'Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind' from Alvin and read a few pages. I think this guy sounds pretty amazing. A rather charismatic guy too.

Some participants being invited on stage - The ang moh guy looks like a model! Wahahaa...

Roger Hamilton - Asia's leading wealth consultant. He become a millionaire in his late twenties and retire at the age of 30. Wow... at 30 i am probably still eating grass, not to even mention about retiring. Sigh~

Mark Victor Hansen - the guy who co-authored the famous 'Chicken Soup For The Soul' series, which is selling millions of copies worldwide. Hard to believe i actually get to see him in person!

I got this free bonus cd by Robert G Allen & Mark Victor Hansen. Hmm... maybe they will teach me how to be a millionaire. Hehe...

A large crowd attending the event. I kept seeing this two ang moh guys walking around with their slippers during the events. Hmm... though it did not seem to be a proper attire for such an event, they did not really seem out of place. Have to admit they are eye candies to me. Suddenly i sound so bimbotic gushing about all the cute & good lookers i saw at the events. Wahaha... Still, i have to clarify again i am not an SPG ok.

World Internet Mega Summit (WIMS) - The event for the next 4 days. Basically, it is a seminar where the top internet marketers such as John Childers. Armand Morin, Stephen Pierce, Mike Filsaime, Mark Joyner, Ewen Chia and Jay Abraham etc share their experience and give advices on how to have a successful internet business.

Stephen Pierce, one of the speakers, was challenged to generate $100,000 donations in 72 hours. Using internet marketing, he created a web page on the first day of WIMS and managed to raise the money by the 63th hour! No wonder he was invited here! Kym Ng was also invited to represent and deliver the check to the 'Feed The Children Foundation'

My job duty for WIMS - Customer Service!

Me and Zhao Ru enjoying the fun!

Despite 3 meals being provided, i was still spending money at Expo. Should i consider myself fortunate or unfortunate that the food fair, MPH and Guardian Sales are going on at the same time? Turns out the job can be so free at times that me & Zhao Ru ended up going shopping almost everyday and spending more money than we expected. Women! -_-"'

Some of the food i bought from food fair. I went there almost everyday to eat. Too much temptations. Just cannot resist. Haha...

We were given $20 bonus on the last day. Just nice for me to buy a book at MPH (8 bucks. So cheap!) and a box of Bio-essence eye mask + lift eye essence from Guardian (To compensate for my lack of sleep during this period). Only 15 bucks! So cheap of course must buy! \(^O^)/ But actually i was lucky cos i found 1 box which they tagged wrongly. The price supposed to be $25. Still cheap considering the original price could be up to $65! I found a bargain! As for the effect, the box states 'guaranteed visible initial results after 5 minutes' . I have to wait till i try out first. If it does not live up to it's claim, i am going to sue the manufacturer. Haha...

To conclude, i really enjoyed this 6 days period. Though it can be tiring, it was certainly worth the experience. I am hoping to take part again next year and be involve in product sales, so that i can sit down and pay attention to the inspiring talks of those famous business gurus. Since i am studying business management, i think it will be beneficial to me. Afterall, entrance fee is not cheap. If i can listen for free and earn money at the same time, why not? :)
