DONUT CRAZE

Recently i had cravings for donuts. Just don't know why... I guess it started when i first tried the JCO donuts from Batam.

So far, I have been hearing a lot of reviews about Donut Factory since the day they started an outlet in Singapore. Generally, the reviews were mixed. Some said it was nice, some said there were better donuts elsewhere. I can't believe my eyes when i went down to Raffles City and saw not 1, not 2 but 3 separate queues just for those donuts! This is crazy! For sure, i will NEVER queue 2-3 hours just to buy donuts (unless some nice person wanna queue for me lah. Haha...) The last time i actually queued so long for something was for my Man Yoo~ ticket, when they came to Singapore a few years ago for a friendly match. Donuts can be bought everywhere but my Man Yoo~ and most importantly, my Beckham don't always come to Singapore ok. Haha...

Finally, i had a rare opportunity to try out the donuts from DF yesterday thanks to a guy:

------------------------------------> My Brother! <---------------------------------

Wahaha.... Turns out that nice person is right in my house! But i have to thanks his gf for that, cos the ever pampering bf decided to buy those donuts as part of his gf's birthday present. Aww... So sweet. Since he's going to queue anyway, of course i must make use of this chance right? Hehe.. In the end he went to the new branch at Suntec City and waited for about 3 hrs (he actually queued twice!) Each person is limited to 2 dozen each time & my brother decided to buy 4 boxes. 1 for gf, 1 for gf's family, 1 for me & 1 for my family. Wah... If i got a bf like that, i am sure i will be very touched~ Too bad my brother is taken already. Haha...

Orange boxes again... Why is everyone using the same colour?

Hmm... After trying out all the flavours, i preferred the double chocolate and the strawberry flavour as pointed out in the picture above.

The double chocolate has a very thick dark chocolate fillings which oozes out after i warm it for a while with my toaster (No oven, so toaster is my substitute. Haha...) Tastes a bit like nutella. Yummy... The white chocolate strawberry also tastes quite good considering i am not a 'very strawberry' person. Sweet strawberry taste~ The orange white chocolate has a very mild citrus taste which is actually not bad also. As for the spicy cheese, it tastes a bit salty and certainly not spicy at all. In fact, it tastes a bit like pizza! The Lotus Mocha just looks like a piece of dung to me. Wahahaa...

In general, i find those with chocolate tastes better. The rest i find it normal only, probably cos i did not eat it 'fresh from the oven'. I only tried it for the first time after it was put and taken out from the fridge. Hmm... It certainly does not justify the long queue. Why are there so many people still queuing for it? So puzzling... The only flavours i will probably go back for is the double chocolate, white chocolate strawberry & maybe orange white chocolate.

Oh ya... Each box costs $11 for a dozen. Not that cheap... JCO donuts only cost about S$7 for the same amount and certainly to me, tastes much better.

I still prefer my JCO donuts anytime!
