X'MAS PARTY PART 2

Had a fun time with my nutpals at our own private party on christmas eve. With the help of Caroline, we managed to book a 1 night deluxe room at Holiday Inn Atrium Hotel for a special rate of only S$162! Yeah~ Heard that this hotel has changed names a few times. From the intial Glass Hotel then Concorde Hotel and finally Holiday Inn Atrium. The location was not bad, just a short distance away from Tiong Bahru Plaza.

The hotel staffs there were rather friendly. When the staff serving us at the front desk saw us carrying a few bags of stuffs, she greeted us and asked whether we are having a party. Haha... Actually a bit embarrassed but who cares. I guess we may not be the only one doing that. We just want to have fun! She gave us the highest floor (27th) and a king size bed. Good!

The king size bed was not as big as we expected, but still it was slightly larger than a queen size bed. We were provided with an ironing board, weighing scale and an electronic safe. The brand of the bath sets was Red Earth - shampoo,conditioner,bath gel & moisturizing lotion. Even a sanitary pad was provided. Hehe...

Sceneries from our hotel - was quite pleased that we were given the highest floor. We can see Furama as well as Copthorne King's hotel from our room. Even their swimming pool can be seen. Haha... Generally, the view was rather nice.

Bought some balloons and sprays to decorate our windows but who knows we bought the wrong type -_-"' so we tried using the manual method - spray out the content and stick it on the window ourselves. Haha... I hope the housekeeping staffs won't curse and swear at us the next day. Oops!

Surprised! Me & Yanfen went down to bring Xiang Jun aka Groundnut to our room. Managed to trick her to enter the room lst. Poor thing... She was secretly ambushed and sprayed in the face. Haha... Santa Claus is coming to town. Lalala~




Lucky me & Yanfen already knew what to expect. After Xiang Jun entered the room, they tried to spray us too! Not so easy!

Our theme for the night was 'Pyjamas'. Liyi aka Peanut promised to lend Yanfen 1 set since she has extra. To her horror, it was not the cutie pyjamas that Yan Fen expected. Haha... As me, yanfen & xiangjun all did not have pyjamas (They wanted me to wear bikini but i refused) , we had to decide who had to wear this 'pyjamas' that liyi brought. Oh no... Our fate was decided using this:

It's Yanfen! Fated lah... Haha. Lucky i got 2 more points than her. She tried to deny the truth by throwing it away. After some whining and complaining, she was spared from the 'punishment'. Turns out liyi did brought along a cutie pyjamas for her. Lol~

Went out for dinner. The hotel has nice transparent elevator capsules. Managed to quickly captured the Christmas tree at the back while in the elevator. I like this picture. Can really feel the christmas spirit :)

While returning to our hotel, we saw a group of people singing Christmas carols and songs at the lobby area.

Really had an enjoyable Christmas this time round even though that dumb dumb is not around to celebrate with me. Suddenly I felt very fortunate to be surrounded by a few close friends that i really treasure, to share my joy, laughter & tears. Thanks to all my friends (you know who you are). If are reading this, just to let you all know that i am so glad that you are my friend!

X'MAS + BIRTHDAY PARTY PART 1

Christmas - My favourite holiday of the year.

Since young, i have been dreaming about having a white christmas. I wanted to build a snowman, have a snowfight, hang up my stockings - waiting for santa claus and his reindeers to arrive and secretly places his presents in it (Now i know they are fake. Haha...) or even sit under the chimney just to feel the warmth from the charcoal fire. Well... I know i can never experience that in sunny Singapore, unless the weather goes berserk and snowflakes, instead of rain started pelting down on us. Hmm... maybe the closest i can get to having snow in Singapore is by going to the "Snow City" near the Singapore Science Centre. Haha... I have never been there, but still, it cannot be compare to the REAL thing. I shall wait and hopefully in a few more years time, i will get to spend my first white christmas somewhere. Yeah~

Just had a mini celebrations at IqDynamics. It was quite fun actually. About 3 weeks before Christmas, everyone was asked to draw lots to see which person they picked. Each person shall be an angel to the person they picked without revealing their identity. The budget allocated was $30 and everyone will be given a piece of paper to write their wishlist and hang it on the Christmas tree. A deadline was given to put up the wishes and we had to go to the christmas tree to check what our recipient wished for. As for me, I wish for a Takashimaya Voucher. Really cannot think of what to buy at the moment as most of my wishlists are above the budget. Haha... Anyway, i got to fulfill someone's wish by buying him the Norton Anti-Virus software as mentioned in my earlier post. To make it more interesting, they decided to have a gift wrapping competition as well. It will be separated into male & female categories. A $50 gift will be given to the winners. By 22nd Dec, which is our celebration day, all the presents were finally placed under the Christmas tree. I just love our christmas tree! \(^o^)/

Generally, the guys requested for thumbdrive and sd card while the gals requested for shoes, bags, accessories & shopping vouchers. The funny ones requested for toto quick picks, begawan Solo voucher (we already have that shop at our office building), a book that the person wanted his/her angel to recommend (That is tough, at least to me. Haha..)

Everyone was divided into different groups - Santa, Elves, The Grinch and Reindeer. I was in the Santa group! Pictures of X'mas trees at various locations were taken by our organisers, James, Sock Hoon and Lilin and we had to guess the exact location as parts & pieces of the X'mas trees were revealed square by square using powerpoint slides. Losers had to do a forfeit - Sing us a Christmas Carol~ :)

After voting, our lst prize winner for the female category was announced. Really super nice! The whole thing just looks like a cake. It was actually made from a cookie tin. Too bad i was not the person who received this present.

Our 2nd prize winner for the female category on the left. There is a X'mas tree & a snowman on top with cotton wool below to create the snowy effect. According to my colleague, each boxes there contained some jewelleries. On the right is another present which was nicely wrapped as well. Realised that there are quite a few talented people in this company. Maybe they are aiming for the best wrapped gift award. Haha... Wow... if only i have their skills.

Generally, the guy's presents all looked the same. Had a hard time choosing the best wrapped gift. Eventually, the guy's lst prize winner went to Vincent, who created a musical box that was done during his school days. Every winners had to explain how they wrapped their presents. Don't pray pray... We cannot play cheat by asking other people to wrap for us. Haha..

My present! Yeah~ Actually it was rather pretty as well. My angel, Lilin told me that she used those red & green wrapper, then cut and folded out those flowers herself! Wow... Can see the effort there. Very happy to receive it!

Some little gifts that i received from other colleagues. Never really expected them to give me something. Felt a bit embarrassed that i never prepared anything for them. Hmm... Maybe i should buy something for them on my last day of work there. Anyway, it was 1 of my most enjoyable moment at iqdynamics so far :)

Celebrated my brother's 21st birthday on the same day - 22nd Dec. Finally he is an adult! Haha... I guess he has been waiting for this day for a long time.

Ah yo... my mum seems to like ordering key shaped cake for 21st birthday. Seems pretty much the same as mine just that the colour is different.

Our grandparents! I love this photo! By concidence, all of them were wearing purple. Even the cake was purple. The funny thing was, my brother said purple is an international gay colour and yet he was wearing a purple shirt on purpose. But he is definately not a gay. Lol~

"Tang Yuan" - a glutinous rice flour balls in soup which can be served plain or have fillings like peanut or black sesame in it. For good luck, the Tang Yuan is usually served in pink and white balls. Almost every year for his birthday, my lucky brother gets to eat this as "Dongzhi" usually happens to fall on the same day. This year there is no pink Tang Yuan as my mum spent all her time on the buffet spread for my brother. Even though there are no fillings, the original tastes just as good. I love Tang Yuan! :)

SUPER BROKE!$$$

Oh man... I think i spent too much again recently! Hmm... I guess after all the shopping + fixed expenses, i think so far i am left with only about 10-20% of my salary earned during last month. Hai...

Went to JB last sat to colour my hair! Hehe... Me & Caroline(My RR ex-colleague) went to check out every hair salon at City Square for the price before we decided on "Fox" since it is the cheapest - RM170 for colour + hightlight + treatment + cut. Whole duration took about 2.5 hrs.

Cannot really see the colour & highlight from this pic because my room is too dark + the colour is actually brown, close to my original black coloured hair. Anyway, just wanted to cover up the black hair that has grown out + my white hair which is hidden inside. Haha... This is also the 2nd time a hair stylist asked me to perm my hair. However, i got no courage though i was tempted. So the hair stylist just blow the settings using the hair dryer to agar agar let me see how i will look like with perm hair. Not really the real thing. It was kind of back to the original shape by the time i reached home. Hmm... Maybe next time. Haha...

There is a dec sales currently going on in JB. A lot of shops having huge discount! Whoo Hoo~ So happy. However, due to time constraint - 2.5 hrs at the salon + 1hr stuck at the custom (Arrgh!) + lunch & dinner, we were left with only with a few hrs to shop. In the end we still managed to grab some good buys. Hee...

Fila is having Huge disocount up to 70% off! Bought the bag for only about S$17. Original price was about S$60. Really worth it. The Fila bottle costs RM9 & yet the sales person told me there is a 30% discount! Wow... In the end the bottle only cost S$2+ So cheap! so i just grabbed & bought it. ZA is also having 15% discount! Bought 2 boxes of night cream at around S$14+ after disocunt. Singapore is selling at $22.90! ***Happy*** At the end of the day, i spent every single drop of the S$200 that i changed. Jia lat!

Went Bugis on Sun to buy the norton antivirus software for my company gift exchange. The budget is $30. Ah yo... Lucky my colleague is good enough to put down the exact location on his wishlist so at least i did not have to spend a lot of effort to search for it.

Damage is $55. Actually cheaper than i expected. He put on his wishlist that the excess he will forked out. Ha... Maybe after that can ask him to lend me to install for my pc...

Still not satisfied with my purchases, I took half-day leave on tue to go JB again with Caroline & Yanfen. Crazy char bor right? Lol~ And the suay thing is on tue morning, my office building kind of short circuit(probably due to the continuous raining) & only 1 lift is working. Everyone was just crowding around, waiting for that single working damn lift! Even though some of the lifts kind of started working after a while, it started & stopped once in a while & some people was trapped inside. To minimise the risk of getting trapped in the lift, me & my colleagues decided to take the staircase. Guess which level was our office? 33rd Floor! Someone please kill me! We climbed all the way to the 20th floor without resting & stopped for 5 mins before continuing all the way up. Really cannot believe that i actually did it. I think it has been a super long time since i did that much exercise! *Faint~~ & i still need to go JB to shop after that. MY LEG!!!!

Eventually, the shoppaholic in me decided not to change plan despite the tiredness of my leg + the non-stop rain & went ahead with the shopping. Need to finish up my purchases by this week for my own xmas gift exchange + present for my brother. Somemore i had not shopped enough on sat! Hehe... Bought the following items:

Went Secret Recipe for Dinner after that. It was a really hilarious encounter there. It started when we ordered 3 cakes & 2 of our orders came. The 3rd order which was a blueberry cheesecake that Caroline ordered never came and instead, the waitress served us another oreo cheesecake which was already served to us before that. We rejected the order for that cake thinking that she would brought us the correct cake after that. In the end, the last cake never came and what we witnessed while at that place was totally a comical scene. While having our dinner there at the same time, we saw the waiter and waitress serving the same customer the same order twice just like what happened to us. Subsequently, we saw orders from other customers being rejected probably due to wrong orders or items already served. The table beside us was served the bill even before all their items came & later on, 1 of the waiters tried to serve them a main course when they were already having their desserts! Super funny... The 3 of us were like sitting there watching a comedy movie unfold & anticipating who will be the next suay customer who will be served the wrong order. Haha... We really pity the poor chef who got to prepare so many wrong orders. Seriously, i wonder did they go through any training at all.

Tried to take a quick snapshot of 1 of the blur waiters with my HP. He really got that blur look. Lol~ Too bad he is standing too far away for my HP to capture a clearer view. If anyone is going there, please let me know whether the same thing happens to you or whether the situation has improves. Haha...
