    LIFE IS GREAT!

School holiday is going to end soon... Sianz~

Time seems to flash by quickly when you are enjoying yourself. Strangely for the first time, i find myself not craving for my usual diet of english football whenever there is a season break from June onwards. Somehow, weekends suddenly seem too short for me. The last thing i need is for football to occupy my time because I still want to go for the GSS before it ends.

Talking about GSS, me and Caroline went crazy shopping for our '内在美' recently. Haha... In fact, i think it was her who psycho me into buying. *Temptations* I hate it when people try to tempt me during sales. On one hand, i was trying to save as much money as i can, on the other hand, the devil in me was willing me to go ahead and spend while i can. Hard choice huh? In the end guess what i bought? I bought 4 bras and several mixes of t-strings,thongs and hipsters from La Senza even though i have enough stocks at home. That Cha Bor was even crazier than me. She told me she bought 13 bras and don't know how many undergarments. Siao! But i can understand why cos La Senza is having 50% sales right now and if we buy from Robinson, there is a further 20%. How can anyone resist right? Actually i wanted to get more but i can't possibly spend all my miserable temp. job pay on those items. Furthermore, i still have my online sprees to cover. As usual, my mum's skeptical reaction upon seeing my purchases was:

"Buy so many for what? You have a whole cupboard full of bras and undergarments and who is going to see what you are wearing inside anyway. Somemore if i hang all of them out to dry after washing, what if the Banglas upstairs think we are operating some kind of indecent business here" (-.-)

My god! Think too much loh... Knowing aunties and their logics, i did not want to go on telling her stories about bras for different clothes, different occasions or theories like how it makes me happy and confident about wearing it. To her, A BRA IS JUST A BRA. YOU EITHER WEAR IT OR YOU DON'T. I rest my case... Sigh~

So what have i been busy with recently?

Ans: Busy rejecting and receiving free treats from everybody and anybody. Haha...

First, i was invited to stay over at JB for 2 days to eat, shop and relax. I rejected it eventually due to some last minute changes. Then my mum asked me whether i wanted to join my uncle at a restaurant for a Father's Day celebration dinner, which i again rejected because she told me at the very last minute when i already had other appointments. (Damn... She keeps raving about the food to me after that -Lobster porridge was soooooooo nice! Purposely makes me jealous!) As if to make up for those losses, i was given treats by my current colleagues and even my ex-colleague (been so long since i last met up with them) Hehe... Then I had another big feast 2 days ago to celebrate my grandpa's birthday (yes, the food was great - my white pepper crab!) and not too long ago, my grandma celebrated her 80th birthday with another dinner spread! Woo hoo~ All the endless treats is making me live like a queen. Haha...

I love this picture of my grandma. Sometimes old people can be shy on their birthdays too :) Does she looks like 80? No right? I wonder what my niece and nephew are thinking about at that moment. Haha...

    My mum and aunts!

The next generations - me and the cousins!

The youngest generations - my cute nieces and nephews!

Of course there were quite a few of them not in those pictures. Actually given our large family size, i think it would be nice to have a formal session one day and gather everyone together for a group photo. I guess it would be a wonderful memorial for my grandparents and everyone in the pictures.

    *************************************************************
Someone last minute fly my aeroplane the other day. So mad at him! Never mind, his loss is my gain. Lucky the little devil's mum jio me out to eat crab. We decided to go to the Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant (funny name~) at Night Safari to satisfy our cravings. It has been years since i last went there as a kid.

The entry tickets sponsered by the little devil's mum :)

The little devil up to his antics again.

Coconut juice - one of my favourite drinks. I noticed that compared to the coconuts in Batam, those in Batam are green in colour, bigger and taste blander. Hmm.. i still prefer the local version which may be imported from elsewhere. Although it is smaller, it is sweeter and much more refreshing.

The moment i have been waiting for. Chilli crabs! Hard to believe that before May this year, i have not eaten any crabs for about 1.5 years and then within a month, i ate it for the 4th time already! Yes, i am a crab lover and the pincer is my favourite part. Of course, nothing is complete without a dip of those warm fried buns into those yumilicious sauce. Ooomph... i am craving for it again. But i have to say the food here is damn ex. A plate of crab meat fried rice and seafood horfun easily costs about 14 bucks each. So you can imagine how much this crab costs. But then this is at Night Safari, so i guess it is not surprising for them to markup the price. Thank god this is also a treat, otherwise i might have to wash plates for them. Haha...

Some fake insects display we saw near the entrance.

    Angry mode!!!

One bad point about going to Night Safari is that no flash photography is allowed. In other words, taking night photograph without flash means that the object probably cannot be seen. In an attempt to try snapping a picture of this leopard cat in the dark, i forgot to switch to my non-flash mode. Therefore, my flash went off when i took this picture. Suddenly someone happened to walk past behind me and exclaimed in horror:

"Oh my god!!! No flash photography allowed!!! How can she do that!"

*FUME* ~~~~ Hey, i did not do it on purpose ok! The way she reacted was like i am some kind of moron who doesn't know how to understand or read the sign, "no flash photography allowed" which was put up everywhere. It was so dark there and i did not realise that i still have the flash mode on. And it's not like i am going around snapping pictures of those ferocious animals that will attack people when provoked. Not only that, the leopard cat was enclosed and I was not trying to disturb them from their sleep or anything. They were obviously walking about, oblivious to our presence.

Of course not to say i was totally blameless for the whole incident, but it was certainly not intentional. Stupid woman! Stop trying to act as if you are so high and mighty and please watch your mouth before you start accusing people. If you are so great, then stay away from the Night Safari and let all the animals have their rest!!! Too bad it was too dark to see her face. Otherwise i would have given her a cold hard stare. The last thing i want is being accused of something i am not!

I think this is a resting place

This picture reminds me of someone :)

We took a tram ride after that before ending the night. Hmm... i have to say the Night Safari is pretty boring. Everything was so dark and at times, we still got to search for those animals that are hiding somewhere just to catch a glimpse of it. I still prefer the Zoo anytime. At least i can see clearly what the animals are doing and take all the photos i want without being accused by some moron stranger. Hmph!

    1 DAY BATAM TRIP

Finally i went on a 'trip out of Singapore' this year! Haha...

That's right, i just went to Batam a few days ago... If i can choose, of course i would much rather prefer going on a trip to Europe or even nearby places such as Taiwan or Bangkok. Since my mum wanted to sponser this 1 day trip to Batam, i guess better than nothing. I have never been to Batam before plus I am free anyway. So why not just take a look right? And for once, i feel like i have become a 'millionaire' (The zeros in the Rupiah is driving me mad!) Oh, i realise Batam is actually 1 hour behind Singapore. Hmm...

    Our itinerary for the day

    At Harbourfront ferry terminal

Me & my mum on the coach

    Chinese Temple

    Confucius Temple

A small pagoda located near the temple for burning of incense paper.

Multi-hand goddess - reminds me of the Diner Dash game. Lol~

    Time for seafood lunch!

    Lobsters! Yum Yum...

Hmm... i am not sure what is this. Clams?

She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells.

Crabs! My favourite! Chilli crab anyone? Looks small though...

    The scenery surrounding the restaurant

The restaurant is divided into two parts and built with wood and bamboo over the sea. Freaking huge here. I think it can even seat a few thousands people! We had some prawns, chilli crabs, fried fish, fried squid and sambal kang kong. There was also this dish by the name of 'Gong Gong', which i think Batam is known for it. It looks something like this:

Basically, it is a conch shell thing where you have to extract the meat from the shell using a toothpick. My aunt ate most of it. Erm... i did not try it because it did not look tempting to me at all. I do not want to end up 'gong gong' (blur or dumb in hokkien). Haha...

    My aunt & cousin

See the tap there? So convenient since we are eating seafood here.

My aunt wanted me to take this picture for her cos being the 5th aunt, the number 555 is like related to her -_-"'

My favourite moment - Massage! We were given the alternative of shopping or going for massage. Of course i chose massage. Basically we can choose either thai or indo style of massage. According to our tour guide, indo massage is better. We were escorted into a dim room with curtains dividing each person. The curtains could be drawn so that we can talk to each other, which we did. Being a first timer, of course i was nervous and shy at the same time cos we had to strip off our clothes and changed into a pair of shorts provided by them. But damn... the whole session was so shiok that i almost fell asleep. I felt the pain during certain parts, but it was still within my pain threshold limit. I am not that weak ok. The cost? Approx. S$20 for a 1.5 hours full body massage. So cheap!!! I want another session!

We stopped by the Polo Ralph Lauren factory outlet on the way. The price there is much cheaper than Singapore and it is authentic. I bought 2 polo shirts (big pony) for about 80 bucks! The more popular designs and colours were mostly left with the larger size like L, XL or XXL. I wanted to buy a white one but there was no more stock for my size. Sigh~ So I decided to buy a black one but the 'empress' complained that i got too many black clothings at home and wanted me to choose pink (i have just as much pink fyi... I think she is just biased towards black -.-"'). Too bad i did not have enough time to browse, otherwise i might get some t-shirts as well.

    This is for David

    And this is mine... :)

Shopping wise, there was not much things to shop probably due to lack of time. Most of the things we bought were food items. We stopped by Batam Mega Mall for our dinner and i cannot help feeling excited when i saw a Donuts & Coffee place. It kind of reminded me of Donuts Factory though i have not tried that before. (I am not going to queue 2-3 hours for the donuts unless someone is so nice to queue for me. Haha...) They have about 20 varieties and I bought a dozen for about S$7. Quite cheap... Regretted not buying another box... T_T

    J.CO Donuts and Coffee

In general, most of the donuts taste good. Soft and fluffy... In fact, some of the toppings actually melted in my mouth. It tastes the same even when i keep it overnight for 1 day, but i think it is best to eat it fresh. They have some cute names like Tira Miss U, Miss Green T, Berry Blue and Jacky Chunk. I like the one with the one with chocolate crisps, oreo powder, almond slices, tiramisu and mango flavour. Seriously, i think i can finish everything in one go if i am hungry. Man... i feel like taking a ferry back to Batam again to buy another box and try the rest of the flavours. I am super addicted to donuts now! Too bad it is only available in Indonesia. I hope they open some franchises in Singapore soon and fight with Donuts Factory! Haha...

    I GOT A JOB!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY I GOT A JOB!

So happy man... The person in charge called me just now and told me to report for work tomorrow. Cannot believe my luck that i actually managed to get a job at this late stage when i was almost going to give up searching for one. Generally, it has been a good past few weeks for me. I get to rest a bit plus do whatever i wanted to do and meet up with who ever i wanted to meet. Everything seems to come my way. Hehe... Though it was my 'slackest' holiday so far, it was the holiday which i enjoyed the most.

Back to the job. I think nobody will be surprised if they know what kind of job i am doing. Yes, it is my speciality - admin job. Haha... Seeing that i do not have much time left before school starts, i decided to apply for admin job. Of course it is not as fun as the expo job which i recently worked for. But heck, sometimes i have to be realistic a bit and think of my bread and butter. At least i already had my fun. Anyway, the company name is ST Electronics Pte Ltd. It is a 5 days working week from 8.30am - 6pm. They are paying me at $6.50/hr. The best part is, the location is only 2 bus stops away from my home! 5 minutes of bus journey. Haha... That means i can wake up at 7+ and still be on time for work. Shiok! At this point, they wanted me to work for 1 month which i am not sure whether i can commit till then (The stupid timetable is not out yet). I hope the school will start in the second week of july. Otherwise, i might have to miss the first few lessons, which of course is not a good thing.

Anyway, i am just glad that i finally have another month of expenses covered for the time being. And i can start my shopping sprees again! GSS, here i come! Wahahaaa.....

    CELEBRATION TIME AT KBOX!

*WOO HOO WOO HOO WOO HOO ~~~*

*LA LA LA LA LA LA~~~*

    *YO YO YO*

*HEE HAHA WAHAHAA HEE HAHA WAHAHAA ~~~*

No, my friends out there. I have not gone crazy or landed in mental hospital............. at least not yet. I am just over the moon that i actually passed all my papers for this semester! In fact, i felt as though i just struck the first prize in the 4D or TOTO. \(^O^)/

Although the results are nothing to shout about (2 credits & 2 distinctions), i am more than satisfied enough because i expected myself to fail one of the subjects (my biz finance paper). In other words, i actually did better than i expected, which explains why i was absolutely delighted this time round. It was certainly a huge burden lifted off my shoulder because not only i get to avoid retaining another semester, i also save myself from paying again the FREAKING EXPENSIVE school fees (approx. 1.2k per paper) just to retake that stupid paper. All the tortures & hair tearing moments that we went through while studying at Starbucks, Hans and even 'tonning' at Westmall Mac had finally paid off! I really cannot imagine going through the same process again if i failed that paper. The icing on the cake is that all my friends sailed through as well! Yes!!!

To reward ourselves, we decided to have a KTV session. Unfortunately, not all can make it due to other commitments and it was left to the 3 siao char bors again to belt it out and gone crazy in the process!

    At Kbox Cineleisure

    Warming up....

    And acting cute...

    Buddy...

    Enemy???

Suddenly we are being possessed! Haha...

    What ya looking at?

3 hungry monsters caught in the act!

ZY wanted to bite everything, including my knee. Ouch!!!

Even the tv was not spared!

And she started looking for her next prey...

Maybe this is the miracle cure water (神奇水)!

    ZY true form revealed!

Flirting with the cherry & lemon

    We want the cherry too!

    Red cherry nose!
