HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
I am pretty contented with my birthday celebrations this year :)
Surprisingly, that man actually did some planning this time! Haha... As everybody knows, i am lazy to think when it comes to making suggestions on places to go. So i just told him to bring me to somewhere nice which i HAVE NOT BEEN BEFORE (actually i was already expecting the usual "ok we will look around and decide where to go on that day") . Just when i was going to make some suggestions in case he really has no ideas, he told me that he already made a reservation at Swenson -_-"' Not that Swenson is not nice but i have been there quite a few times. Although a bit uncreative, i am still happy that at least he bothered to take the effort to make a reservation somewhere. As long as the food is not sucky, i am pretty ok with it. To me, it's the effort that counts. Cos i still remember last year when no plans = lost our way = almost disaster (I never fail to constantly remind him about that incident this time round. LOL) So of course this year, i hope there won't be a repeat of that again.
We went to this dark, quiet and slightly inaccessible location (unless you drive or take a cab) at Dempsey Hill. To my surprise, there were many nicely decorated restaurants there, mostly surrounded by the lush greenery (I am a mountain turtle lah. Never been there before. Ha...). Turns out there was no Swenson over there. bb purposely tricked me to give me a surprise :) Instead, he booked a place at a Mexican restaurant there called "Margarita's". Even though he booked the window seat at a corner, it was still kinda noisy indoor cos the place was quite packed and the high ceiling probably enhances the sound. Otherwise, it was actually very nice inside with the dimed lights. Thank god the owner there (forgot his name) was super helpful and friendly. He managed to find an outdoor seat for us which was so much quieter with better ambience. He even personally help to recommend us a few dishes:

bb ordered this for main course : chicken burrito with green tomatillo sauce. I know it looks a bit erm... But it definately tastes nicer than it looks.
My main course recommended by the owner: fish, prawns and mash potatoes (don't know the name of this dish cos i think it's not on the menu). The prawns are very fresh, juicy and succulent! I like the sauce too! Yummy...
Another surprise from bb: 3 staffs suddenly walked in through the side door and together with him, they sang me a birthday song and at the same time present me with this Mexican Flan ("My birthday cake" :p). Felt a bit paiseh but also kinda touched at the same time cos did not really expected him to prepare this surprise for me. *Muack* No wonder he kept going to the toilet the whole night. Haha... And i managed to clean up everything in this plate, even the raspBERRIES (i know my nutty pals gonna be surprised if they read this. Hee...).

Even though the place and the surrounding is rather nice, i find the food a bit ex (approx $150), probably due to that 2 glasses of margaritas. If not, it would have been a nice chill out place. Nevertheless, i had a great time out and i am grateful to bb for trying his best to make me happy despite his busy schedule. And yes, this time round we did not lose our way again. Wahahaa...

Had a belated birthday celebration with my nutty pals yesterday. Seriously, i think they are out to kill my brain cells every year. Haha... Last year they made me went on a 'treasure hunt' around bukit batok and this time round, they actually brought along some stuffs for me to play a game. Sounds like the SAW movie. lol.. Anyway, i had to guess what each object represents based on their impression of me, be it character, appearance or something else. If i guess correctly, that means the other person will do the forfeit. Guess wrongly, that means i will do the forfeit -_-"' I am allowed to rebut the answer if i think their impression of me is wrong. See.. obviously out to kill me right. I am not good at guessing one loh.
Peanut brought this HelloPanda which i doubt i will ever guess correctly. I like chocolate? No! I sleep late? No! Arrgh... Turns out the answer is "hard on the outside and soft in the inside". Hmm... I wanna rebut but i have to admit it's kinda true. Sometimes i may appear strong on the surface but deep inside, i know actually i am exactly opposite cos i tend to get emotional easily.
Rong brought along this (forgot to take a picture of it). Actually i sort of know what this means but it's kinda awkward for me to praise myself. Ha... But they forced me to say it out cos they said must have confidence in myself. Hmm... ok loh --> "Good Skin". But hor... Seriously, i do get pimples occasionally one loh. Just that they never saw it. Ok stop. If not they will say i no confidence again. Wahahaa...
Rong got to do the forfeit which i asked her to do cos i guessed correctly. Hee...
This is prepared by Donut. It took me a super long time to guess. Haha... I dislike sour stuff? Wrongxxxx! Donut then gave me hint and asked me to think in chinese. Lucky last min "Ding!" I got the answer. The first part is 酸梅 (Sourplum) + a piece of 腿 = 美腿 (梅腿) -_-"' Like that also can... And i realised i forgot to ask Donut to do the forfeit loh. Not fair... Made me kill so many brain cells.
This is prepared by Groundnut. Seriously, this one is also impossible to guess. she said that one is kopi-O. I thought it means 乌龙 cos i am blur like sotong. Wrong again! In the end i gave up and she explained that among all the drinks, only coffee is a "strong" drink. "Strong" as in i managed to overcome the darkest period of my relationship with bb last year, which leads to where i am today. Hmm... Answer kinda similar to Peanut's answer but i still think Groundnut is only half correct. I feel peanut's answer is a more complete description of me.
And this last one is by Coconut. Damn funny... Jay Chou again!!! I know the answer can't be so easy as in i like Jay Chou. Is it because i am calm or don't like to talk much? Unfortunately my answer was wrong. I gave up again cos by now my brain cells already maxed out. Haha... She said through the Jay's concert incident + she recalled all the previous incidents about me, she realised i am a person who is very persistent in getting what i want if i am really keen on it. Another example is the beckham incident. Hmm.. quite true in certain sense cos if i am REALLY REALLY keen on something which is within my means, i will definately use all my resources to make sure i get the best deals. Actually someone told me before that she noticed i will usually get the things i wanted eventually and i laughed it off that time. Now that i think back, i just feel that it's a question of whether you are REALLY willing to put your talks into action. If the passion is there, anyone can pretty much get what they want if they try hard. Maybe not ALL the things but SOME of the things. It's just a question of sooner or later.
Of course, all these talks did not spare me from the forfeits. The gals decided to combine their forfeits for me into one : Asked me to call bb, told him "i have beautiful legs" and then hung up the phone! -.-"' I was also not allowed to tell him that it was my forfeit within the same call. Only after that. Arrgh!!! After pleading unsuccessfully with the gals to change to something else, i still gotta do my forfeit eventually T_T
Guess what's his reaction? That stupid man actually asked me whether i was drunk after i said "those magical words" Haha... I wanna knocked his head! Still gotta wasted my time to explain to him what actually happened after that.

I know i complained alot about the games in the above paragraphs. Actually i know that the gals are not out to kill me lah. Haha... Cos i know they alway put in effort to think of new ideas for my birthday, just like last year. Seriously, i am glad for the game cos it makes me understand myself more and reaffirm what my friends really think about me. Of course there are many areas i know i need to improve on. Ya.. i will work on it. Thanks so much gals! I really appreciate your 用心良苦. And this year, there will be no present cos we decided to pool the money from everyone's birthday and go for a group session makeover during year end! Sounds fun! But still so far away... Haha.

Since i already got the wallet, i decided to ask bb to buy Nintendo DS Lite for me instead. Hee... Will maybe go get it either this or next week. Can't wait to lay my hand on it! I want my Cooking Mama!!!!
