    DONUT CRAZE

Recently i had cravings for donuts. Just don't know why... I guess it started when i first tried the JCO donuts from Batam.

So far, I have been hearing a lot of reviews about Donut Factory since the day they started an outlet in Singapore. Generally, the reviews were mixed. Some said it was nice, some said there were better donuts elsewhere. I can't believe my eyes when i went down to Raffles City and saw not 1, not 2 but 3 separate queues just for those donuts! This is crazy! For sure, i will NEVER queue 2-3 hours just to buy donuts (unless some nice person wanna queue for me lah. Haha...) The last time i actually queued so long for something was for my Man Yoo~ ticket, when they came to Singapore a few years ago for a friendly match. Donuts can be bought everywhere but my Man Yoo~ and most importantly, my Beckham don't always come to Singapore ok. Haha...

Finally, i had a rare opportunity to try out the donuts from DF yesterday thanks to a guy:

    ------------------------------------> My Brother! <---------------------------------

Wahaha.... Turns out that nice person is right in my house! But i have to thanks his gf for that, cos the ever pampering bf decided to buy those donuts as part of his gf's birthday present. Aww... So sweet. Since he's going to queue anyway, of course i must make use of this chance right? Hehe.. In the end he went to the new branch at Suntec City and waited for about 3 hrs (he actually queued twice!) Each person is limited to 2 dozen each time & my brother decided to buy 4 boxes. 1 for gf, 1 for gf's family, 1 for me & 1 for my family. Wah... If i got a bf like that, i am sure i will be very touched~ Too bad my brother is taken already. Haha...

Orange boxes again... Why is everyone using the same colour?

Hmm... After trying out all the flavours, i preferred the double chocolate and the strawberry flavour as pointed out in the picture above.

The double chocolate has a very thick dark chocolate fillings which oozes out after i warm it for a while with my toaster (No oven, so toaster is my substitute. Haha...) Tastes a bit like nutella. Yummy... The white chocolate strawberry also tastes quite good considering i am not a 'very strawberry' person. Sweet strawberry taste~ The orange white chocolate has a very mild citrus taste which is actually not bad also. As for the spicy cheese, it tastes a bit salty and certainly not spicy at all. In fact, it tastes a bit like pizza! The Lotus Mocha just looks like a piece of dung to me. Wahahaa...

In general, i find those with chocolate tastes better. The rest i find it normal only, probably cos i did not eat it 'fresh from the oven'. I only tried it for the first time after it was put and taken out from the fridge. Hmm... It certainly does not justify the long queue. Why are there so many people still queuing for it? So puzzling... The only flavours i will probably go back for is the double chocolate, white chocolate strawberry & maybe orange white chocolate.

Oh ya... Each box costs $11 for a dozen. Not that cheap... JCO donuts only cost about S$7 for the same amount and certainly to me, tastes much better.

I still prefer my JCO donuts anytime!

    I HATE FREE RIDERS!

There are certain words in english which i normally will not use on another person, especially those that i know. But right now, i suddenly have a very strong urge to say the F word to those people who really irritate the hell out of me recently. Yes, i know it is not my usual behaviour, but when a person reaches his/her limit, even a sane person can suddenly go crazy.

What is the worst thing that can happened to you when you have a lecturer who has an attitude problem and expects you to solve everything by yourself?

The answer unfortunately happens to be:

Being assigned to a group of brainless and useless leechers who

    - Can't do,
    - Can't work
    - Can't think

And the worst of the worst - trying to make use of me for personal benefits! Bastard!

The thing is, i don't even know you very well. How can you just give my number to any organisation when i only know you for 1 day? I gave you my number so that it is easier to contact each other for the group project and not for you to freely distribute my number around. This is invading my privacy! When i confronted you, all you could say was "You can don't go if you don't want to. They won't force you to go." Of course lah! If i go you stand to benefit right? Idiot!

How about i post your number online and advertise it as a free porno hotline? How would you feel?

As if it's not enough, you were "verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry helpful" by making arrangement for an interview with your manager for our group project. "Sooooooooooo helpful" that 2 of your colleagues even came to fetch me to the company first when you were late (I wonder did you do that on purpose?) Turns out it was a stupid MLM company which you worked for. I would probably have stormed off immediately if not for the sake of getting that stupid interview.

Yes, i did get my interview in the end. But i was subjected to about 3 hours of endless torture from your colleague's sales talk. Too bad you did not achieve your aim of getting me to join the company. You think i am stupid meh? Tempt me with some stupid BMW, become your downline and you earn money from me? Wait long long... I am not a kid who is easily tempted by some free treats ok. Stop being naive!

When i asked you to discuss about the project, all you could say is "Then how?"

How ah? Go knock your head against the wall lah! Or you wanna wait for the cow to come home? Arrgh!

Please... This is a group project. All you did was sit beside me and watch while i was doing the project. Sickening... No initiative at all. From doing up the powerpoint slides, finding the statistics, article, video clips and even the compiling was done by me. I wonder am i really in a group? What have you done? Nothing! No research, no ideas generated and no work done!

I gave you a chance to redeem yourself by asking you to analyse the case study and the article (both items already provided by me) and prepare 2 slides. I also asked you to prepare the conclusion because it should be an easy job. You said you would passed it to me yesterday night before the deadline. In the end you said you would passed it to me this morning because you were still 'analysing'. Fine!

When you came this morning, i expected to see some output. My worst fear came true when you produced nothing! What were you doing the whole of yesterday? What exactly did you analyse? How to cheat more people for your personal benefits??? Do you even have a brain? Such a simple job and you can't even get it done? Idiot! So did you purposely delayed it till this morning because you know that i would do it for you since today was the deadline? Even this i also got to do for you! Is this my project or 'our' project?

When i practiced with you the script, i told you not to read exactly from the article. I want you to elaborate on it. You are not telling stories to kid. And what did you do? You don't bother and just read straight from the article during the presentation. Can't you even quote some examples or just summarise the article?

And everybody heard the lecturer mentioned that we should not bring attention to ourselves by apologising even when we stumbled during the presentation. And what did you do? You stumbled the moment you started presenting and repeatedly apologised to the audience! My god! Were you listening to what the lecturer just said??? Seriously i have never seen such a dumb and useless person before. You are worst than a kid. Even a kid has more analytical and listening skills than you. I wonder how did you manage to get through all your previous projects in the first place? You mean your friends actually don't mind free rider like you? Seriously i despise you!

The other group member is not any better. Asked you to discuss, you alway said you were busy and then goes MIA. You just throw me there with that useless person. Asked you for opinion, you said everything was ok and there was nothing to add or edit. Asked you to inform that useless person the time to meet up and both times you forgot to inform him, giving him more chance to slack.

And Jas was so right, i didn't know that there are really stupid people around and we need to remind them what to do or what not to do. Come on loh, everybody knows during presentaion, you have to wear more formal. I thought most people should have some basic common sense what formal means - meaning no jeans. And what did you turn up wearing today? A formal shirt and a jean skirt! Seriously i really feel like vomitting blood. Since you are already wearing a formal shirt, can't you even find a decent skirt or pants to wear for presentation??? And you waste more of my time by travelling back just to change into something decent. Somemore you live in Hougang, as if that is not far enough. It was already 1-2 hours before the presentation and yet we have not even finished our stuffs or practiced our scripts. Now you showed me this kind of stunt??? Are you kidding me???

In the end, the presentation was as expected, not very good as we went slightly out of point and missed out a few key points. So much for everything ok and nothing to add or edit huh? I mean i am the only 1 doing all the things and the other 2 members were so useless. I have already done my best without any help. I could have kicked both of them out if i wanted to since they did not contribute much at all. Should i be more ruthless and tell the lecturer the actual truth?

Not only that, i also discovered that there are other people who can't seem to understand what a question is trying to ask. It's either they provide an answer that is totally unrelated, answers that doesnt sound correct or they just keep quiet and hope that other group members will do all the job for them. They are just contented to leech on other people's success.

Seriously this is the first time i am so pissed off with so many people at one go. I am tempted to ask them whether they came from the Singapore Institue of Moron instead of Singapore Institute of Management, but that would sound so mean. Haha... Lucky i still have people on the same frequency as me and thank god for them. Otherwise, i will probably be joining the Singapore Institue of Moron as well after mixing around too much with such people.

Woot! Now i feel so much better after this super long blog entry. Damn... I just realised this whole project thing is making me so stressed that i actually lost my cool.

At least now I learnt a lesson. Next time if i spot someone like that, i would get rid of he/her immediately instead of waiting till it's too late to do so.

So free riders! Back off or i will use the F word on you next time. I am serious!

WEEKEND GETAWAY @ ORCHARD PARADE HOTEL

After considering several choices from Allson, Bayview,Copthorne Orchid, Swissotel Merchant Court, Amara and even JB hotels, i finally decided to book Orchard Parade Hotel for my recent weekend getaway with my nutpals. It has been quite a while since we last have a group gathering with everyone present, though the only disappointment is that our busy woman, Rong can't join us this time round. Nevertheless, we still had a great time out enjoying ourselves :)

The location, being at Orchard Road is definately a plus since the GSS is still on going and there are many places nearby to shop. So convenient! Actually it was kind of cool to stroll down Orchard with just a wallet and hp and then walk back to rest as though we live there. Haha...

I have to say, compared to the staffs from Holiday Inn Hotel, those from Orchard Parade Hotel appeared less friendly and the receptionist that served us seem to be a little bit slow and inexperience. Not that they pulled a long face or made rude remarks, just that we were greeted with a warm welcome and smiley faces when we stayed at Holiday Inn last time. It definately helped to make our stay more enjoyable in a way, which is why i feel customer service is so important in this industry. Other than that, everything was pretty ok and we were allocated a king size bed upon our request. Just what we needed. Yeah~

Our king size bed! Just nice for 5 people since there was an extra couch provided :)

They have more cable tv programs here, even Real Madrid channel! My beckham! Wahahaa... But it was a bad thing in a way cos we ended up spending most of our time watching tv. There were too many interesting shows to watch!

The lousy fridge here did not have a freezer for ice -_-"' We had to go 7-11 to 'kope' some which was offered to us free, only if we have our own cup or plastic bag to contain it. Still, we wasted the ice in the end cos we did not use it at all. Haha...

I have to complain about this toilet! First, the stupid door was kind of difficult to close and the light was faulty and flickering. But i have to give them credit for their service cos the technician came up immediately after we complained and fixed the light within 5 minutes. Extra towels were also brought to us promptly upon our request.

Our room is facing the swimming pool. The view is quite nice actually :)

Brought along my mini MJ set which i bought from Hong Kong a few years back. No chance to use it till now. Haha...

Posing with my MJ before we opened it.

Coconut excitedly helping out with the 'opening ceremony'

4th member to join in - Groundnut

Trying to take a candid shot of Peanut, who finally arrived after her family dinner. Even the MJ set was already on the standby. Lol~

Hehe... MJ Time! See the serious look on my dear nutpal's face. I am delighted cos i am on a winning streak. Wahahaa...

    GAME TIME!

Peanut had to run around the room and do an impersonation of a monkey for her forfeit. Actually she did a rather good job there. Thumbs up!

Coconut's forfeit - imitating Shrek saying "I'm an Ogre", Do situp 5 times, Act like a robot and singing the '老鼠爱大米' song. Haha...

We continued our MJ session after the game break all the way till 6am+ in the morning. Haha... I know we are crazy~

    Groundnut enjoying her beauty ZZZ....

Peanut leaving early for her church session.

We were granted free late check out till 3pm upon our request. Another thumbs up for the hotel! Since we still have time, we went for a quick shopping and have our lunch on the way. We passed by Ngee Ann City and guess what? We realised that the Singapore Food Festival just started and it happened to be Chilli Crab Festival on that day! My god! I seem to have fate with chilli crabs recently. There were so many stalls selling chilli crabs and people were sitting there, busy tucking into their bowl of mouthwatering chilli crab. Not only that, they are actually giving tourists free chilli crabs to try!

I managed to get this cute handheld crab fan which they were distributing there. They were also giving out crab soft toys for tourists as well. Arrgh! I want that toooooooooooooo~ I wonder will they give David one if i ask him to help me take. Haha... But then it is too late. The crab festival only lasted 3 days till 1st july. Sianzzzz... My Crab~~~~~~~~~~
